Fading Visage
You wake up in the middle of a dense, overgrown forest. You are a slime, you are lost, and your memory is a complete blank.
Fading Visage is a 2D Metroidvania built around exploration and survival. I wanted to create a world where every upgrade feels like a step toward rediscovering who (or what) you actually are.
What's in this demo?
I have put together the opening sections of the game to give you a feel for the world. You will be able to:
- Test out the core movement and platforming;
- Fight through the first few enemy types and start hoarding resources;
- Find a moment of peace in a place where you can spend what you have gathered at the shop to buff your abilities;
- Go head-to-head with the first boss. It is the first real skill check, be ready!
This is just the beginning of the slime’s journey. I am working on a story that dives deep into why you are in this forest and what happened to your past.

Having issues with running the windows installer, getting "Access Denied" for some reason. Running the other one works though.
I would send a report, but unless it's just not showing me that it did, it won't let me for some reason. (of course after I posted this it finally let me send one, but I'll add it here just in case).

Thanks a lot for the feedback and the log, that’s very helpful!
It looks like the itch.io app's sandbox mode is messing with the permissions, which is why Windows is throwing that "Access is denied" error.
I'll push a fix for this as soon as I can. In the meantime, you can easily bypass it by launching
Fading Visage.exedirectly from the folder on your desktop, or just by turning off the Sandbox option in the game's settings inside the itch app.Thanks again for catching this, really appreciate the support!
